Workshop on Patriotism for Students to Mark Kargil Vijay Divas

Mangalore, July 20, 2012: In view of inculcating sense of national pride and patriotism among students, Centre for Integrated Learning in association with Dakshina Kannada District Ex-Servicemen Association and Lions Club Mangalore will be organizing a workshop for high school students to mark the Kargil Vijay Divas at the Lions Seva Mandir in the city on July 26.

The day will be marked by honouring of four retired personnel from the armed forces for their selfless service rendered to the nation. The workshop will feature various activities including interaction between children and retired servicemen, group discussions, presentations and career orientation towards joining the armed forces among others. An educative posture on patriotism will also be released on the occasion.

The event is expected to be participated by over 200 students from different schools in and around the city.

Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) has been striving to evolve strategies and interventions to add value to present education system through an array of activities and events targeting children and youth. As part it’s `Campaign Patriotism’ initiative, the organization has initiated various programmes to inculcate a sense of national pride among children so as to groom them to become responsible citizenry.

CIL has been organizing the Kargil Vijay Divas in a meaningful manner since the past three years. The ex-servicemen association has also been actively involved in educating and creating awareness among school and college students on the need to develop the sense of belongingness towards our country.

The programme on July 26 is an open event for high school students and schools can register the names of the students for the workshop on the spot as well, a press release informed.
