Two college girls commit suicide

Mangalore, July 28, 2012 : Two college students committed suicide in two separate cases on July 27, Friday.

Aishwarya Deepika (17), a student of SDM College in Ujire, hanged herself on the morning of Friday. Reportedly, Harshan Nair, her neighbor, was forcing her to have a love affair with him and was sending her disturbing text messages daily.

When Aishwarya complained to her brother Deepak, he confronted Harshan and told him to leave his sister alone. Even Aishwarya’s parents warned Harshan not to bother their daughter. But Harshan and his friends attacked Aishwarya’s family in public, owing to which Deepak had to be admitted to the hospital. The police have registered a case against Harshan for driving Aishwarya to suicide and also for assaulting her family. Meanwhile, Harshan’s family has lodged a complaint against Aishwarya’s family for assaulting Harshan.

The Belthangady police are investigating the case. SDM College remained closed on Friday.

BBM student commits suicide

Sonial (20), a BBM student, hanged herself on Friday. Daughter of Padmanabha Bhandary of Samrat Industry in Kaikamba, she went to college as usual, but killed herself as soon as she got back home.

Reportedly, Sonial was suffering from eye problems.
