ISKCON to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami

Mangalore, Aug 7, 2012: ISKCON, located on Arya Samaj Road, Mangalore, will celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami at Devadiga Samaj Bhavan on August 10, Friday. 


Announcing the above at a press conference held on Aug 7, Tuesday, President Karunya Sagar said that DC Dr. N. S. Channappa Gowda will inaugurate the Hari Nama Japa Mantapa and Deputy Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly N. Yogesh Bhat will take part in the Maha Abhisheka at 9:00 p.m. 


He invited devotees to offer pujas and prayers and perform special ashtottara seva to the Lord throughout the day. The organizers expect 10,000 devotees to arrive for a darshan and receive prasadam. Inviting devotees to offer flowers, fruits, tulasi leaves, and coconut on this occasion, he said that the organizers will serve meals to all. 


The highlight of the event will be the Hari Nama Japa Yajna, which includes a mantapa with 108 steps, giving devotees the chance to chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra. Members like Sharad Vihari Das, Sanandana Das, and M. V. Mallya were also present.
