Mangalore, August 10, 2012 : The city police saved an inter-religious couple from being molested and assaulted by a pro-Hindu group.
Reportedly, members of a pro-Hindu outfit saw a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl together in the service bus stand of Mangalore. The couple boarded a bus to Kasargod. A few activists also boarded the same bus, and the others followed the bus on private vehicles. Their plan was to pull the couple out of the bus before it reached Talapady, which is located on the Karntaka – Kerala border.
A couple of journalists, who came to know of this, immediately alerted the police, who deployed teams all along the route.
An eyewitness says that the group gave up their plan and returned as soon as the bus entered Kerala.
