8 fishermen rescued from sinking trawler boat

Mangalore, August 21, 2012 : Eight fishermen, who were on board a trawler boat belonging to Mohammed Shareef of Jeppu, were rescued after the boat sank 15 nautical miles off the Ullal coast.

According to police sources, the 8 fishermen were rescued by fishermen on other boats.

The fishermen had gone fishing on Friday and were returning with their catch when the boat sank. The loss to the owner is estimated to be Rs. 25 lakh.
