Mangalore, Aug 23, 2012 : A group of unidentified miscreants barged into Kandlur Government Higher Primary School at around midnight on August 22, Wednesday and began destroying everything in sight.

They broke into the school and threw books and stationery all over the place. The Kannada dictionary was thrown into the toilet and vulgar, abusive words were written all over the blackboards.

According to Bhaskar Sherigar Maarashi, this happened on the night of August 22 and the school management has no clue about the identity of the miscreants. Stating that this is the first time such a thing happened at the school, he said that the miscreants had even broken the lock on the gate in order to enter the school premises.

Laxman V. S. Kandlur, an old student, said that the miscreants have insulted the state language by throwing the dictionary into the toilet. Condemning the act, a student said that it is a shame that a school should have been vandalized in this manner.

The students were forced to study under the trees because they could not use their classrooms.

The Kundapur police, who have registered a case, are now investigating.
