Udup, Aug 31, 2012 : Kudi Vasanth Shetty, headmaster of Shri Vishnumoorthy High School, Kudi, has been nominated for the national-level Best Teacher Award.

Mr. Shetty was the founder headmaster of Shri Vishnumoorthy High School, which was established in Kudi in 1980. Having served as a teacher for 32 years, he definitely deserves this award, especially as he served for the first five years on an unaided basis. He is chiefly responsible for the progress made by this school.

The school had recorded 100% results in the SSLC exams 8 times; otherwise, the SSLC results are always in the range of 90 percent to 95 percent.

Mr. Shetty says that he has been deeply inspired by his father Sadananda Shetty, adding that he is happy that he has founded a good school in a rural area.
