Sullia, Sep12, 2012 : The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and the Campus Front of India (CFI) jointly organized a silent protest in Sullia on Tuesday to condemn atrocities against minority communities by members of the Sangh Parivar.

The silent march began at Shashtri Circle and ended at the private bus stand, where protest speeches were made.

Akbar Ali, general secretary of the district unit of the SDPI, accused the state government of supporting wrongdoers belonging to the ABVP and withdrawing cases filed against them.

Shafi Bellary, leader of the Sullia taluk unit of the SDPI, said that the Sangh Parivar and the BJP are corrupt bodies, which are now trying to spread their influence in college campuses through the ABVP.

Koosappa, convener of the district unit of the Dalit Sangharsh Samithi, said that the BJP has been humiliating S. Angara, the Dalit MLA, from the past 20 years, in spite of which he acts on their orders and tries to ruin Dalits. He demanded to know why Sangh Parivar leaders are silent about this issue.

Thufail, president of the state unit of the SDPI, demanded to know why the ABVP never protested when BJP ministers were caught watching pornographic video clips in assembly. He said that the SDPI has the power to put an end to their goonda activities in college campuses.
