Manipal man arrested for possessing drugs

Manipal, Sept. 27, 2012: The Udupi District Crime Intelligence Bureau arrested a man from Ashok Nagar in Manipal Industrial Area on Thursday for being in illegal possession of drugs.

Althaf (33) was caught selling charas and ganja near Badagubettu GP in Manipal. According to DCBI sources, Inspector Praveen H. Nayak caught the accused red-handed and confiscated 1100g of ganja, 410g of charas, and Rs. 170 from the accused. They also confiscated a Maruthi 800 car, which he used to peddle the drugs.

The Manipal police are now in charge of this case.
