Rotary Foundation organizes zonal-level seminar

Mangalore, Oct 24, 2012: A zonal-level Rotary Foundation seminar was organized in Rotary Bala Bhavan in Mangalore.

Rotarian Prakash Mundagat, previous governor and entrepreneur, inaugurated the seminar. Speaking about the role played by the Rotary Foundation in society building, he said that this internationally acclaimed organization has played an important role in the eradication of polio. The foundation also served tsunami victims and helped rehabilitate them, he added.

Dr. B. Devadas Rai, Rotary district governor, was the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he urged them to strengthen the foundation by contributing voluntarily to it.

The resource persons were Rotarians Surya Prakash Bhat and Krishna Shetty. They spoke about the foundation’s programs, policies, and goals for the year.

Zonal Coordinator Rotarian K. S. Chacko delivered the introductory address.

Rotarian Sebastian Thomas, an eminent planter and industrialist based in Mangalore, was honored for contributing Rs. 5.40 lakhs to the foundation.

As many as 150 Rotarians took part in this seminar.
