7 couples tie the knot at mass marriage ceremony in Pakshikere

Mangalore, Oct 24, 2012: St. Jude’s Church and the Visitors’ Centre of Pakshikere jointly organized a mass marriage ceremony, during which 7 couples tied the knot on Oct 23, Tuesday. A mass meal program also formed part of the event.

The initiators of the mass marriage ceremony were Alban D’Souza, parish priest of Kalmadi in Udupi; Fr. Oswald Monteiro, director of Rusemp in Pakshikere; Fr. Deril Fernandes, editor of Sevak; Fr. George Crasta of St. Anthony’s Ashram in Jeppu; Fr. Anand Prabhu of Mudigere; Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest of Pakshikere; and Fr. Sunil Pinto, assistant parish priest of Pakshikere.

Delivering the presidential address, Fr. Alban D’Souza wished the couples well.

The chief guest of the event MLA Abhayachandra Jai congratulated the parish for organizing the mass marriage ceremony.

Those who donated generously to the event were honored.
