Mangalore, Oct 26, 2012: Suspicious Silence Second, an acrylic painting by Santhosh Andrade, a painter who lives in Chilimbi, has won the Mysore Dasara Mahotsava 2012 Kalamela Prashasti.
The Karnataka State Government and the Mysore Dasara Kalamela Sub Committee organized this competition, which was selected under the Karnataka state-level painting competition.
Santhosh Andrade received the prize during the Dasara celebrations in the CTI Building of Kawa Institute in the presence of Mysore City Corporation Commissioner Dr. M. R. Ravi and Mysore District Commissioner P. S. Vastrad.
The prize was Rs. 5,000 and a certificate.
Among those present were Mysore Kawa Institute Dean V. A. Deshpande and Basavaraj Musavalagi.
Artist Santhosh Andrade got his fine arts degree from Mahalasa Education Trust Mangalore and Surjana Arts College Dharwad. He has received a number of awards and honors for his paintings at the national as well as state levels. He has also displayed his work at international exhibitions.
