2 seriously injured in bus accident

Moodubidri, Nov 20, 2012: A bus rammed into an electric pole and a wall near Moodubidri Bus Stop on Nov 20, Tuesday, seriously injuring two pedestrians.

The injured are Sathish (29) of Kervase and Sathish (21) of Konaje, who are now taking treatment in Alva’s Hospital.

The bus was on its way to Moodubidri from Kinnigoli. The driver lost control over the vehicle while trying to stop it, as a result of which the bus jerked back , hit an electric pole and a wall, and injured the two pedestrians. It also damaged a Honda Activa scooter parked nearby.

Ratnakar Devadiga, president of the town municipality, visited the place and helped the local people and the police department to repair the electric poles and clear the debris.

The local people said that it is an accident zone, and buses plying from Mangalore and Karkala often meet with accidents there.

A case has been registered at the Moodubidri police station.
