An Indo-Russian wedding at Kateel Temple

Mangalore Dec 22, 2012  : A Bunt youth hailing from Sorkala in Shirva of Udupi district, has tied knot to a Russian girl, in accordance to Hindu tradition at the Kateel Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple on December 21, Friday.

 

Pranam Shetty,  an employee in a cruise vessel in Russia  married  his colleague Macaneyav Yana from Ukraine, after a three year courtship, in  true Indian style in the presence of family and friends.

Pranam Shetty says though they had earlier got married in Russian tradition, the ardent desire to marry in accordance to Hindu tradition,  brought them to Mangalore.

The Russian bride who looked stunning  in a Kanjeevaram saree said she respected Indian tradition. Yana was accompanied by her cousin Catherine and said she had seen Indian marriage rituals on the internet  and was deeply influenced by the same.
