Mangalore Today News Network

Kundapur, Jan 16, 2013: There are reports that the police have arrested four persons in Bangalore in connection with the brutal killing of Kota Congress leader and RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga.

Sources said the four were supari killers and that they were paid Rs 25 lakh to execute the murder plan by the enemies of Adiga.

Adiga, an RTI activist who was keen on exposing irregularities through RTI queries, was reportedly kidnapped while he was on way home in his two-wheeler on January 7 evening, by some Scorpio  bound assailants. His body was found in a lake at Kadur in Chikmagalur five days later. The assailants who might have possibly killed Adiga by strangulating him while taking him in their vehicle, had later dumped the body in the lake after tying stones weighing nearly 30 kg to the body.

Adiga’s murder has also raised safety concerns about RTI activists.
