Kasargod : Man arrested with 14 kg saffron

Kasargod, Feb 6, 2013: DRI officials have arrested a person at the railway station  and have seized 14 kg of saffron from him.

The arrested is Arif of Pallikere. It is learnt, the man who had arrived at the Karipur Airport by an Air India Express Airport from Dubai, had earlier managed to escape from the airport. However, acting on a tip off,  the DRI sleuths were in waiting for him and nabbed him before he tried to escape in the Chennai-Mangalore train, minutes before the train departed from the station.

The saffron was found concealed in his suitcase.Investigations are in progress.
