I will never quit Congress: Shakuntala Shetty

Puttur, April 5, 2013: Former Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty who recently defected to the Congress, has said that no special significance should be attached to her recent visit to the residence of her political mentor Ram Bhat.

Shakuntala  Shetty has clarified that it was only a personal visit and had nothing to do with politics. “ I will never quit the Congress and will remain in the party as long as I live,” the senior politician said.

It may be mentioned here that her visit to the residence of Ram Bhat had caused apprehensions in Congress circles. Shetty assured that she will continue to work towards strengthening the party in the town and added the negative publicity was by some forces who could not tolerate the progress of the party in the town.
