Mangalore, April 9, 2013: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), enthused by its victory in one ward in the MCC elections, has decided to field candidate from Mangalore (Ullal) constituency.
According to Nawaz Ullal, District Committee Member of the party, the SDPI will field Akram Hasan from Mangalore constituency. He will face UT Khader of the Congress.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore, Nawaz Ullal said, Akram Hasan heads the media wing of the party. He has worked for a Kannada daily for several years and now runs a website, Nawaz said.
Already, at the state level, SDPI has decided face the elections by joining hands with BSP. It will field a total of 25 candidates in Karnataka assembly polls.
