Swamiji from Badrinath attacked in Mangalore

Mangalore, May 15, 2013: A seer from  Badrinath in Uttaranchal who is in the city, was attacked by two unidentified assailants   at the service bus stand in Mangalore on May 13, Monday night. It is learnt, the assailants fled with the  heels of the seer.


It is said, Sri Vijayagiri  Maharaj (56) from the Srirama Giri Maharaj Kuteer in Badrinath  was at the bus stand at around 11.45 pm as he had planned to go  to Dharmasthala. As it was already late by the time he arrived, the bus had  departed.

It is said, two persons who approached him  first demanded his cell phone and when he refused  slapped him and then fled with his heels. According to the swamiji who has received treatment as an out-patient at the Wenlock Hospital,  the assailants were crew of some bus.


Pandeshwar police have registered a case as per a complaint lodged by the seer.
