Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, May 18, 2013: Thieves who broke into a house  on Kudmul Ranga Rao Road  in Mangalore on May 16, Thursday, have decamped with gold, cash and a mobile phone  all valued at Rs 2.67 lakhs.

The theft occurred when the house owner Mamatha Prabhu was away to a house at Mannagudda. It is learnt, the thieves broke open the front door and laid their hands on a cash of Rs 20,000 and  jewellery weighing 20 sovereigns among other things.

That the theft occurred within a gap of just an hour when the owner was away has given room for suspicion that it was the handiwork of someone who knew about the movements of the lady in the house.

Kadri police are investigating.
