Mangalore : Bhatkal man arrested at airport for smuggling gold

Mangalore, June 8, 2013: A person from Bhatkal was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence sleuths at the Mangalore International Airport on June 8, Saturday  for  smuggling as many as 12 gold chains from Dubai. He was hiding the gold chains under his full sleeves shirt.

The arrested person is Sanaulla (48). He had arrived at the airport by a Jet Airways flight from Dubai at 7.40 am. The  value of the seized gold chains weighing 200 grams has been estimated at Rs 5 lakhs. Investigations are in progress.
