Mangalore, July 27, 2013 : A total of 36 out of the 37 eggs of King Cobra which were found in a farm at Dharmasthala a month ago and later shifted to the breeding centre at Pilikula, have hatched after incubation. The baby snakes are nearly one and a half foot long.
In an earlier case, three cobras had laid eggs at Pilikula and 80 hatchlings were born. They were reared for a year and then left in the forests.
The breeding centre at Pilikula is run with the support of Central Zoo Authority.
