Police raid Illegal abattoir; arrests four

Udupi, Aug 26, 2013: The Shirva Police officials conducted raid at an illegal abattoir located at Bothottu near Shirva and arrested four persons in connection with it, on August 25, Sunday.


The raid at illegal abattoir was conducted by Shirva Police led by Shirva Police SI KR Naik. The arrested persons are Khalid, Farooq, Sabhuddin and Haneef, who have later revealed about their business being run illegally.


The police officials have also seized 2 cows, 3 calves, weighing scale and weapons used to shear the beef meat. The estimated value of the meat seized in the abattoir is around Rs. 4,200 and the estimated cost of the cow and calves is about Rs 15,000. 


Shirva Police has registered a case.
