Mangalore, Sep 11, 2013 : The body of a youth named Praveen Kulal of Kadeshwalya who had met a watery grave in Netravathi River at Manjalpade on September 8, Sunday has been traced on the Netravathi river banks at Tokkottu on September 10, Tuesday morning.
The body was found decomposed and the inner wear which he was wearing helped in ascertaining the identity.
It may be recalled here that a visit to Manjalpade in Sajipamunnur village of Bantwal taluk by Praveen, a welder in Mangalore, along with his friends to attend a friend’s wedding turned tragic when the friends decided to venture into Netravathi for a bath after the wedding party left.
It is being said he was accompanied by his friends Kiran Amtur, Kamalaksha Shanthigudde and Vijay. Sources also said the friends made all out efforts to rescue Praveen who was drowning, but failed in their attempt. The body however could not be traced that day despite a thorough search by the fire service personnel and locals.
