Karkala man convicted for killing father-in-law

Udupi, Oct 27, 2013: A man hailing from Sanoor in Karkala taluk has been convicted in a murder case. The Udupi District and Sessions Court has  passed a judgment  sentencing one Munna alias Marshal to two years of rigorous imprisonment.

He was earlier arrested on the charges of killing his father-in-law Sheena in a drunken stupor. Munna who used to stay with his wife Sampa and father-in-law, used to pick up quarrel with the two daily after coming home drunk. On April 4, 2008 too he picked up a quarrel with his wife and then thrashed his father-in-law with a wooden club just because he tried to save his daughter.

A seriously injured Sheena  had later died at the Wenlock Hospital on April 20 that year.

Karkala Rural police had investigated the case.
