CID submits its report on Sowjanya Case to govt

Bangalore, Oct 31, 2013: CID has submitted its final report on rape and murder of Soujanya, the student of SDM Pre-University College in Ujire on October 9, 2012 to the State Government today.

CID report declared that the Santosh Rao, who had been handed over by the public was the real culprit in the brutal rape and murder of a 17-year old girl in Dharmasthala. It is also said during interrogation Santhosh Rao admitted to both raping and murdering Sowjanya.

It further said, other accused Uday Jain, Mallik Jain and Dheeraj Kella were not involved in the crime. The report also said Nischal Kumar, the nephew of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade was in abroad during the period.
