British Council Inaugurates GREAT UK Education Seminars in Mangalore

Mangalore,November 5, 2013: The UK has been welcoming international students for over a century. With a global reputation for excellence in the field of education and skills, it attracts the brightest and best students from India, each year. Over 400,000 overseas students study at world-leading universities annually, of which more than 30,000 Indians study in the UK.
 
As part of the ‘GREAT BRITAIN’ campaign (“GREAT”), British Council will be organizing the GREAT UK Education Seminars in Mangalore from November 6 - 9, 2013. Launched in February 2012, GREAT is a strategic international marketing programme designed to promote the UK to business, tourism and student markets worldwide in order to enhance the country’s global reputation and deliver long-term economic benefits. The seminars hosted by British Council at select educational institutions in Mangalore from November 6 - 9, 2013 will enable students to receive information about studying and living in the UK. The interested individuals will be able to speak to representatives of British Council and learn more about their areas of interest, in addition to a chance to watch ‘There’s never been a better time to study in the UK’ - a short film that captures life changing experiences of UK education through the voices of students currently studying in the UK.

Students opting for UK as a destination to gain top quality education soon discover that there is more in store for them in the form of beautiful landscapes, history, art and culture. Therefore, GREAT is designed to showcase why UK makes for an ideal student destination. The seminars being organized by British Council will provide information on studying for undergraduate, postgraduate or research programmes in the UK and will also give information on student life and culture. GREAT UK Education Seminars are a one-stop-shop for all that one needs to know about studying and living in the UK.

British Council will be hosting the GREAT UK Education Seminars at the following institutes from November 6 – 9, 2013 in Mangalore: PA college of Engineering, Sahyadri Engineering College, National Institute of Technology, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangalore Institute of Technology, St.Joseph Engineering College
