Udupi, Nov 23, 2013 : A 35 year old woman hailing from Uppinakote near Brahmavar has refuted charges of her alleged links with Yasin Bhatkal, the co-founder of Indian Mujahideen.
The woman named Yashoda Poojari who spoke to presspersons here on November 22, Friday, claimed that she had nothing to do with Yasin Bhatkal and that the family of her deceased husband had only hurled baseless allegations against her on a news channel.
She claimed that she did not know who Yasin Bhatkal was or has never contacted any such person. Yashoda who was married to a Shimoga man named Manjunath has a 12 year old son. She lives in Uppinakote with her mother and son and owns a beauty parlour. Her husband had reportedly committed suicide in 2011 owing to some illness.
Yashoda says after her husband’s death, the latter’s family made several allegations against her which were proved false.
“They have even got the property transferred in their name and are continuing to harass me,” she complained.
Meanwhile Dr Boralingaiah, SP of Udupi who has assured to look into the matter, at the same time said the department has no such information regarding Yashoda’s alleged links with the terror suspect.
