Gang leader booked under Goonda Act

Mangalore, Nov 4, 2014: The Police have invoked Goonda Act against Iliyas (26), the head of ’Target’ gang in Ullal, that was involved in extortion by blackmailing businessmen in and around Ullal.

The gang was involved in kidnapping of businessmen and clicking their photos in a compromising position with girls. Iliyas, a resident of Ullal has been lodged in a Bellary jail. According to the police he was involved in 18 cases including theft cases, crating communal unrest by setting ablaze on a club office at Olapete in Thokkottu in 2012 and an attempt to murder in Bajpe.
