Malini death case : Cops suspect role of divorcee woman

Karkala, feb 23, 2014: Police who are investigating into the case of suspicious death of Malini Poojari at Shirlalu in Ajekar on February 20,  have informed that the post-mortem report of Malini has revealed that she had committed suicide by consuming poison.

Investigations by the police have also revealed that Malini chose the drastic step after she found her husband in a secret conversation with a neighbouring woman, a divorcee with  two kids who had visited the house. It is learnt, Malini had questioned the intentions of the other woman named Jyothi  Hegde and this led to a quarrel between the two women. Sources said Malini was reportedly disturbed after her hushand Ashok Jain, instead of standing by her side, supported Jyothi.

 Police have also informed that  they would even interrogate Jyothi to know her  role in the case.

It has been gathered that  a special police team has been formed to investigate into the case which is shrouded in mystery.

As already reported, Malini was five months pregnant. Her husband was arrested  soon after the  incident following a complaint by Malini’s parents blaming him for their daughter’s death.
