Anganavadi workers stage protest

Mangalore, Feb 27, 2014 :  Anganavadi workers and helpers staged a demonstration in front of the DC office in the city on February 26, Wednesday to pressurise the government to fulfil their longstanding demands.

They alleged that Anganavadi workers who have been  working as booth level officers since the past seven years have been cheated by depriving them of basic amenities.

They complained that Anganavadi workers are even doing voters list revision works for meagre wages without any allowance. They also said they were entitled for just Rs 3000 per year for their service apart from  their duties in Anganavadis.

 The protestors submitted memorandum to the  Deputy Commissioner requesting him to fulfill their demands at the earliest.
