Belthangady, May 31, 2014: Yet another case of gross negligence in PU valuation has been reported from Ujire. A grave doubt has arisen as to the valuation by the concerned authorit in general. A student of Jain PU College declared ‘failed’ when the exam results were published, has scored distinction on applying for revaluation.
Praveen Jain, a resident of Perinje village in Belthangady taluk, was distressed with the result of his II PUC commerce exam earlier in May. Praveen was a bright student and naturally he had expected good results. His marks card indicated his Statistics marks as just -5-. He used the right and applied for revaluation, there was a big difference in the mark actually scored.
He had scored 95 in Statistics and passed with distinction. He had scored 97 in Accountancy, 95 in Business Studies, 95 in Statistics, 90 in Economics, 96 in Sanskrit and 81 in English.
If this great a gap can happen students can feel a great distress as to how their marks really can reflect and how many can really opt for re-valuation? The authorities must do better and provide justice to the students in an atmosphere of trust.
