Mangalore, June 03, 2014: With a view to boosting public service over confidence, railway reservation system at railway stations and at non-railhead reservation centres, special vigilences have been conducted by teams of commercial inspectors, ticket inspectors and commercial supervisors on June 1 and 2 respectively at different locations in Palakkad division, under the directions of P A Dhananjayan, senior divisional commercial manager.
During these checks, various shortcomings surfaced, e.g: overcharging by agents on which detailed investigations have been initiated. The raiding teams have also noticed late opening and early closure of non-railhead railway reservation offices. The entire commercial department has been put on alert against illegal activities in ticketing; Dhananjayan said stringent action will be taken against defaulters under railway rules. Dhananjayan also appealed to the public not to encourage tout activities. Hopefully the good results will benefit users.
