Committee for prevention of atrocities on women and children formed

Mangalore, June 04, 2014:  The district administration has formed a committee for the prevention of atrocities on women and children in the district.

The committee, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, will also comprise the Superintendent of Police, District Health and Family Welfare Officer, District Social Welfare officer, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, District Public Prosecutor, Deputy Director of the Department of Woman and Child Development and two NGO representatives, said a release.

The committee will act on cases of child marriage, sale of infants, sexual assault, dowry harassment, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and other crimes, added the release.
