Senior Citizen’s complaint - construction woes

Udupi, June 05, 2014:  News reports have surfaced that a senior citizen has complained that an illegal construction was being built adjacent to his house violating all the laws and rules,  creating unbearable nuisance to him, his family and the surroundings.

Speaking to media persons here on June 4 , B V Ramachandra Mallya, a resident of Badagubettu  blamed the commercial construction that is apparently illegal. He said the building being built by K G K Achar is on the land which has not been identified for commercial purposes. Besides there is no setback left on any side of the structure. He said he has taken up the issue with authorities but no response has been forthcoming, as the building owner’s wife is a influential person in Udupi CMC. He said they have also not responded to the queries under RTI as yet.

He said he has registered a complaint with Udupi police, as the constructors were harrasing and disturbing the peace and his entire family was being hounded.
