Sexual assault at Surathkal on minor girl

Mangalore, June 15, 2014: Police report that a minor girl was sexually assaulted by a person at Surathkal. , the accused is named Tausif (24), a resident of Kana in Surathkal and is known to the family of the victim. The police have arrested Munni (35), a resident of Attavara, for renting out a house to the accused to carry out his evil intentions.

The accused lured the girl with promises of going to the beach and later took her to the house of Munni and sexually assaulted her. In the meantime, the family of the minor girl had filed a missing complaint with the Panambur police on Friday.

It was said that the family of the victim was residing in Kana in the past and Tausif was their neighbour. Later, the family shifted to Koorikatta. The girl had completed her SSLC and was making preparations to join Pre-University College to continue her education. Surathkal police are reported to have registered a case.
