A toy for every child - reaching out to under privilaged

Mangalore, June 20, 2014: The project with the tag line ‘Every Child Deserves a Toy,’ aims to collect toys from the citizens and distribute it to deprived children.

  In an effort to reach out to the under privileged children and bring smiles on their faces, Creating Resource to Empower Society Today (CREST), the youth wing of city based NGO Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) has launched CREST Toy Bank Project.

Used toys which are in good condition are collected through schools and other institutions, sorted out according to utility for different age groups and distributed to orphanages, home for children with HIV/AIDS, anganawadis etc, CREST President Vaishnavi Pavithran told reporters here on Wednesday.

Specially designed Toy Collection Boxes are placed in prominent location in a school so that the children can donate. The project is sponsored by Ideal Ice Cream and Golden Shuttle Association, who said "Every child deserves a toy".
