’Tulu Minadana Odipu -2014’ - Tulu Fest - July 6

Mangalore, July 05, 2014:  Speaking to the media, Tulu Koota President Indrali Jayakar Shetty said that Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy in association with Tulu Koota will organise one day Tulu fest titled ‘Tulu Minadana Odipu-2014,’ at Government Pre University Women’s College on July 6.  The Tulu fest will be inaugurated by Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake. A 620 page volume of Tulu Mahabharatha (the translation of Kumaravyasa Bharatha) by S Devendra Pejatthaya will be released on the occasion. A poets’ symposium will be organised, wherein poets Anshumali, Sulochana Shetty Kodavur and Ganghadhar Keediyur will take part. Poet Vasanthi Shetty will preside.

A symposium will be held on the conservation of Tulu language. National award winning teacher Kudi Vasanth Shetty, Tulu Scholar Bennet Ammanna and Professor Dr Duggappa Kajekar will take part in the discussion. He added that an interaction would be held on ‘Tulu Life Past and Present’. Tulu folk scholar Dr Y N Shetty, Barkur Government Pre University College lecturer V K Yadav and Tulu folk scholar Dr Ashok Alva will take part. The interaction will be followed by a skit on Tulunadu culture and tradition. ‘Tulu Nalike’, a traditional dance programme is organised with many teams taking part.
