Forum demands official protection for RTI & RTE activists

Mangalore, July 08, 2014:  Taking a serious view of attacks on several RTI and RTE activists in the state, the government should provide security to the activists, demanded Karnataka Mahithi Hakku and Kaddaya Shikshana Karyakarthara Vedike President Anand Kumar. Speaking to  media  he said that a few RTI and RTE activists have even lost their lives in their fight for justice.

Some vested interests are trying to thwart the activists by attacking them, he alleged and added that the maximum number of assaults on RTI/RTE activists have been carried out in Bangalore.

He also stated, the forum is making an effort to safeguard the interest of RTI activists by supporting them and fighting for the cause. Awareness will also be created against the misuse of RTI and RTE acts as necessary.
