Puttur, July 14, 2014:  Speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of Vivekananda College,  Former union minister Murali Manohar Joshi  called upon the students to serve the country. The students should imbibe and manifest feelings of patriotism.

He said that promises to uplift of the poor, deliverance of good governance and maintenance of peace had failed. “The poor remain as poor, and conflict within the country is wide. It is the well-educated and rich who indulge in corruption. There is a need to introspect,” he said.

It is true that progress in science has helped humans. However, science had reduced mankind to machines. There is a lack of love towards nature. Physical, spiritual and mental development should be followed by the youth to build a strong country.

‘Dhramasri award’ was conferred on Joshi by Hanumagiri Dharmasri Prathishtana in Ishwaramangala. He also released golden jubilee celebrations logo on the occasion. Udupi Pejawar Mutt seer Vishweshwatheertha Swamiji also spoke. Students present in good strength were very enthusiastic.
