Demands for two way Bendoorwell to Balmatta

Mangalore, July 14, 2014:  According to reports, a large group of  residents and businessmen of Bendoorwell, Balmatta and Kankanady have submitted a strong petition to the DC  to make the movement of vehicles two-way in Balmatta and Bendoorwell.  They claimed that one way traffic system has been creating great inconvenience to students, merchants and residents with increased accident rate.

Pedestrians have to walk on the road as foot paths do not exist. time and fuel consumption has increased.  Autorickshaw passengers have to pay more to reach the needed spot. The residents said that buses and other vehicles do not follow the traffic rules during night and misuse the road which is a grave danger . They follow the old system while travelling in the night, thus creating confusion.  MCC corporator Naveen D’Souza, business entrepreneurs Patel Gopinath Rao Punaroor, Nagesh, Raghavendra Rao, Ajith, Pithambara Shettigar and others were present to present the petition.
