Karkala police in search of complainants address

Udupi, Aug 07, 2014:  According to reports, a letter forwarded fromby the Chief Minister’s Office regarding sexual harassment by the headmaster of Government High School in Sooda, has reached Karkala rural police station, for inquiry.

Sources in Karkala rural police station told media that a complaint received in CM’s office. It was sent to SP office in Udupi and later to Karkala rural police station. The complaint letter is written by a couple named Shivani and Bharath against the Government High School (Sooda) Head Master Ritesh Shetty. The letter alleges sexual harassment by the head master.

The couple said that their kids were sexually harassed by the head master. A case has been registered and inquiry is on.  According to sources the letter has a fictitious address, as the police went all round Sooda in search of the address.

The teachers, staff, and students were inquired. However, there is no concrete evidence to prove the allegation. The police tried tracing out the couple, however in vain. The headmaster was also questioned.

The source said that if the complainants come forward to identify themselves, it would be helpful to the police to dig out the truth and punish the head master if he is found guilty.
