12th Vishukumar award (2014) for litterateur Muddu Moodubelle

Mangalore, Aug 9, 2014: News reports inform that Yuvavahini Kendra Samiti, Mangalore will hand over Vishukumar award 2014 on the occasion of Yuvavhini’s 27th annual convention at Brahmashri Narayanaguru Samaja Seva Sangha on August 10.

  Addressing mediapersons, Committee President Ravichandra said that the 12th annual award will be confered on litterateur Muddu Moodubelle for his contribution to the field of literature. The award is confered in the name of Vishukumar, who was a renowned actor, director, litterateur, journalist and novelist.

Veteran journalist Malar Jayaram Rai will present the award to Muddu Moodubelle. University College (Mangalore) Principal Satyanarayana Mallipatna will preside over the programme. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Janaki Brahmavar, Beary Sahitya Academy President B A Mohammad Haneef will be the chief guest. On the same occasion, Mangalore University Deputy Registrar Prabhakar Neerumarga will present Yuva Sahitya award to young litterateur Chethan Mundaje.

Earlier on the same day, Brahmashri Narayanaguru Samaja Seva Sangha President K Giriyappa will inaugurate the convention. Roshni Nilaya School of Social Works Dean Rameela Shekhar will deliver the key-note address. Additional Government Advocate for Karnataka High Court I Tharanath Poojary, Udupi taluk panchayat former president Sathish Poojary and others will be guests. Kendra Samiti President Ravichandra will preside over. Achievers in various fields including Janaki Brahmavar, Thimmappa Poojary, Ramesh and Rajashekhar Kotian will be conferred with Sadhana Shreshta award and Bharath Co-operative Bank will be presented with Yuvavahini Sadhana Shree award for its contribution in co-operative sector, Ravichandra said.
