Freedom fighters honoured

Bangalore, Aug 10, 2014 :  Governor KRosaiah on August 9 Saturday honoured 85freedom fighters on the anniversary of the  Quit India movement.   It is said there were many others who should have been at the felicitation programme, but only a few made it because the event was hurriedly convened.

“There was no formal invitation to us. Only when I approached the DeputyCommissioner’s (DC)office, was I informed abou tthe felicitation programme. Subsequently, I and other freedom fighters from our Samiti reachedout to lthe members,”  said93-ye arold NRMathod, the president  of the All India Freedom Fighters’  Samiti.

This was echoed by others who attended the function. According to a senior citizen, he was informed at 2.30 pm tha thewill  be felicitated in the evening.
