Import price of areca hiked

Mangalore, Aug 16, 2014:  As per news reports, the Central government has increased the minimum import price for arecanut from Rs 110 to Rs 170 a kg to stabilise the price in the domestic market,  it may be recalled a delegation of Campco had urged the government to incraese the import price a few days ago.

The delegation from DK and Udupi had met Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Seetharaman. In reply to the demand, the Director General of Foreign Trade has issued a circular on hike in import price.
