‘Amrutha Lahari’ release - September 27

Mangalore, Sep 24, 2014:  Reports confirm, documentary  ‘Amrutha Lahari,’ documenting various facets of litterateur Prof Amruth Someshwar will be released at Ravindra Kala Bhavan in Mangalore on September 27.  Vani Periyoid said that the documentary was prepared by ‘Chowki Mangalore.’ The programme will also mark 80 birthday of Prof Someshwar.

The documentary will be screened from 10 am to 12 noon. Director Sadananda Suvarna and Shashidar Adappa will take part in the programme. There will be an interaction with Prof Someshwar from 12 noon to 1 pm.

The interaction will be moderated by University College Principal Prof Satyanarayana Mallipattna. There will be a session in the afternoon wherein Hiriyadka First Grade College Principal Padekal Vishnu Bhat will preside over U Maheshwari will present her paper on ‘status of Kannada and Tulu literature,’ Pritviraj Kavathar will speak on ‘Yakshagana kaayakalpa’ and Chandrakala Nandavar will speak on ‘Samakalina samajadalli manaveeyatheya mukhagalu.

’ ‘Chayavatharana mathu ethara kritigalu’ and ‘Terinaye Vachanolu’ by Prof Someshwar will be released on the occasion. Prof Someshwar will be felicitated in the evening. Hampi Kannada University former VC Prof B A Viveka Rai will attend the valedictory programme.
