Drug peddling brothers convicted

Mangalore, Sep 24, 2014: Principal District and Sessions Court Judge Uma M G has sentenced two brothers from Katipalla to two years of rigorous imprisonment after having declared guilty of stocking and peddling ganja, under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each.

It is proved, on July 5, 2010, Inspector of Suratkal police station K U Belliappa had raided a house on hill side in Katipalla and found two persons possessing 2,240 grams of ganja. The accused are Mohammed Rafeeq (30) and Abdul Gafoor (28).
