School students in Clean drive

Mangalore, Oct 6, 2014: Pompei High School Urwa in association with Rotary Club Mangalore Central organised cleaning drive around Mangalore City Corporation, as a part of Swaccha Bharath Abhiyan, on the occasion of 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

School Convenor Rev Victor D’Mellow inaugurated the cleanliness drive. Rotary Club President Santhosh Shet, Head Master Frank Hillary D’Souza, staff and students of the school, Rotary Club members participated in the event.

At Lalbagh, Mayor Mahabala Marla paid tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with a garland.  Later, in a formal function at MCC auditorium, dignitaries recalled the values preached by the Mahatma. Prizes were distributed to the students who won the quiz competition on the biography of Mahatma Gandhi, said a release.
