Lightening havoc in Brahmavar

Bramavara, oct 8, 2014 : A house was damaged when lightning struck it in Aroor in the limits of Kunjalu Gram Panchayat.  The house belongs to Gopala Naika of J P Nagar. Four members of the family suffered minor injuries, but are under mental trauma.

Gopal Naika, his wife Saku and daughters Shashikala and Chandravathi were in the house when the accident occurred at 9 pm. Due to the intensity of lightning, the walls of the house have developed cracks. TV and other electrical appliances have been completely damaged. Naika family, which has been dependent on daily wage work, has been put to difficulty due to the accident. A loss of Rs 35,000 has been estimated.

Though there was no heavy rain in Brahmavar area, there was severe thunder and lightning, which lasted continuously for about an hour.
