Dalit body welcomes Poojary’s move

Mangalore, Oct 9, 2014: Dalita Samana Manaskara Sangha, Mangalore, has welcomed the initiative of former union minister B Janardhan Poojary at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple to appoint women priests belonging to Dalit community.  Speaking to media, Dalita Hitarakshana Samiti President Rohit Ullal said that by performing the padapooja of a dalit woman, performing religious rituals by widows at the temple and by appointing two widow belonging to dalit communities, as priestess, Poojary has upheld  the principles of Narayana Guru.
